Welcome to Illini Squash!
The University of Illinois hosts both an intercollegiate squash team that competes on the Varsity circuit as well as a club for the casual players at the university. While the team is limited to undergraduates and first year grad students, the faculty, staff, and students are also all active members of the club.
The University of Illinois Squash Team is a highly competitive club team. At the beginning of each year we hold tryouts that are open to all undergraduates. We keep fifteen players on our practice squad and the top nine best players represent UIUC in intercollegiate squash competitions. The team holds a two-hour practice three times a week, in which we train, drill, and play challenge matches. The collegiate squash season runs from September to late February, with usually 6 - 8 matches in the Mid-West region and a lot more in the East and West Coast . We also have the opportunity to compete in College Squash Association’s annual Team Nationals tournament at the end of each season – played at Yale, Princeton, or Harvard. The UIUC squash team is always open to new members and looks to spread its reputation as a competitive team in the collegiate squash world.
